Scottish Water Data Centre
PROJECT
To design, manufacture and install internal, horizontal cooling units, specifically designed to meet the existing locations very limited height and floor space configuration. Because of the floor space limitations, cooling units were ‘piggy-backed’ to deliver the required cooling requirement whilst taking up as little space as possible.
SOLUTION
- Design, manufacture and install 4 off specially configurated 63kW horizontal cooling units within the height restricted Data Centre
- Design, manufacture and install further 2 off 19kW cooling units for cooling within the control centre
- Worked closely with the lead consultant, AECOM
- Trend IQ3 control system incorporated for complete BMS integrated and remote monitoring
- G4 pleated filters incorporated within design
- Fully hermetic digitally controlled compressors
- E.C. fan technology
- Automatic direct outside air ‘free-cooling’ configuration as standard
Reading University Data Centre
To replace the existing inefficient ceiling cassette DX cooling units used to cool the server room with a more efficient, free cooling solution. The project included complete system design, manufacture of cooling equipment, installation and full commissioning of the system.
Reading Data Centre
PROJECT
To design, manufacture and install 20 fresh air, direct free cooling, high efficiency units into this ‘next generation’, Tier 3 hosting and colocation facility.
SOLUTION
- Install 20 off, 50kW free cool packaged units within a cold aisle containment solution
- High efficiency cooling solution delivering impressive PUE, energy saving and carbon reduction figures
- Significant capital cost savings using packaged solution
- Energy efficient E C fan technology
- Fully optimised, web enabled, control systems integrated with existing BMS
- Cold aisle containment configuration
- Additional cooling solution provided for Battery Room to maintain effective operation
- Additional supply / extract ventilation system installed within swithgear room where UPS plant is situated
Pyramid Park Data Centre
PROJECT
To design, manufacture and install a fully packaged cooling solution incorporating the latest direct outside air free cooling technology to maximise cooling energy efficiencies and lower energy usage.
SOLUTION
- Install 21 off, Weatherite type 55, Chilled Water, downflow cooling units
- Fully Packaged configuration
- Free cooling dampers
- Automatic outside air ‘free-cooling’ capabilities incorporated as standard
- Energy efficient E C fan technology
- Fully optimised, web enabled, control systems
- Copper/copper coils
- Fully installed water pipe work and valves
Croydon Data Centre
PROJECT
To design and manufacture new 60kW free-cooling units for an existing Data Centre which needed additional cooling capabilities as part of the clients major expansion programme. Because of the tight space constraints within this existing Data Centre the new cooling units had to be designed to provide maximum cooling capabilities whilst utilising, minimal wall space for inlet and discharge louvre arrangements. Energy consumption was a key factor and weatherites free-cooling units incorporated the latest EC fan technology - helping substantially reduce energy use.
SOLUTION
- Design and manufacture 12 off 60kW free-cooling units to fit within existing tight space constraints
- Worked closely with Consultant NDY
- Had to ensure no interuption to the Data Centre’s existing critical IT infrastructure during installation
- The control software systems for the new cooling units had to be specifically configured to ensure complete compatability with existing BMS services
- F6 pleated panel filters installed on supply air inlet
- EC fans used on both supply and condenser fans
Northampton Data Centre
PROJECT
A number of the existing cooling units within this facility had reached the end of their useful life and needed replacing. After initial survey of existing kit, 12 existing downflow cooling units were replaced with FreTec, direct outside air cooling units incorporating the latest technology in high efficiency cooling.
SOLUTION
- Design, manufacture, install and commission 12 off, 15kW downflow coding units
- Fully packaged - modular configuration
- Trend IQ3 digital controls and software
- E.C. fan technology, high efficiency scroll compressors
- New cooling units designed to fit the exact foot print of existing worn out units - minimising disruption, waste and expenditure
- Free cooling available for majority of year - resulting in extensive reduction in energy costs
Glasgow Data Centre
PROJECT
Part of a major cooling equipment upgrade / replacement programme for one of the UK’s leading telecommunications groups, the project included replacing existing, inefficient cooling equipment with new, state-of-the-art, free cooling units
SOLUTION
- Design, manufacture, install and commission 3 off, 22kW upflow packaged cooling units incorporating the very latest energy efficient, direct outside air, free cooling technology
- New cooling units were designed to fit into the exact foot print of the old equipment - minimising disruption, downtime, waste and expenditure - whilst offering the very latest in energy saving cooling technology
